COTR Lands Five Nominations at the First Stimulate Awards

COTR, the company behind the pleasure-tech brands b-Vibe and Le Wand, collected five nominations at the inaugural Stimulate Awards. For a first-year awards program, drawing that many nods to one company sends a signal about where the sexual-wellness trade sees its established players.

The five span products and people. The b-Vibe Piece Training Set is up for Best Product for First-Time Exploration. The Le Wand Dive Wand earned two nominations, in Emerging Product of the Year and in Body Safe and Wellness Innovation. Founder and CEO Alicia Sinclair is nominated for Brand Leader of the Year. And the b-Vibe Rimming P-Spot Plug is in the running for Pleasure Product of the Year.

A new fixture on the calendar

The Stimulate Awards are running for the first time this year, tied to the Stimulate Sexual Wellness Show. Winners will be announced on August 3 in Nashville, where COTR is a presenting partner.

A new awards program matters beyond the trophies. The sexual-wellness category has spent years trying to separate itself from the adult-entertainment business it grew out of, positioning products as health and lifestyle goods that belong in mainstream retail. A dedicated B2B awards show is part of that project, giving the category the same industry scaffolding that fashion or consumer electronics take for granted.

The company’s read

Sinclair kept her response short and on-message. “The COTR team is truly honored to receive this recognition from Stimulate at their first annual awards ceremony,” she said.

The business logic behind the nominations is worth noting. Two of the five point at the Le Wand Dive Wand, a newer product, which suggests COTR is being recognized for what it is shipping now rather than resting on its catalog. For a brand that sells into mainstream wellness retail, an award citing body-safe materials and innovation is a marketing asset that reads cleanly on a product page, which is exactly the kind of credential a maturing category learns to chase.
